The 100% online-only RN to BSN articulation provides an opportunity for Registered Nurses (RNs) to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, and is designed to validate and award credit for existing knowledge, while remaining consistent with the outcomes of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The BSN degree builds upon existing skill sets, expanding the nurses’ background in safe, evidence-based, patient-centered care, critical thinking skills, nursing informatics, interprofessional collaboration, quality improvement, and leadership and professionalism in the roles of provider, manager, and member of the profession. Once admitted to the professional component of the BSN Program, the student can typically complete the program in one year of full–time continuous study.
As a respected member of the professional health care community, the registered nurse works in a stimulating and challenging environment. Opportunities in nursing exist in all areas of the health care delivery system, which include, but are not limited to, hospitals, schools, public health agencies, community centers, private physicians’ offices, clinics, and occupational health settings. Nurses may work in specialized areas such as hospice, critical care, the operating room, medical-surgical settings, oncology, pediatrics, labor and delivery, and mental health.
