If you are ready to make your dream of becoming an early child development professional a reality, then Grambling State University’s Department of Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) has program options that are right for you. FCS now offers Bachelor of Science degree programs in Child Development and Early Literacy with two concentration options: General Concentration or Teacher Certification Concentration. The General Concentration will certify you to work in a variety of child- and family-centered careers after 120 semester hours in the competitive program. The Teacher Certification Concentration will prepare you to earn licensure as a child care worker or a pre-kindergarten teacher. Both degree programs are designed to equip you as an early childhood specialist – featuring coursework such as child care center organization, instructional technology, health and wellness, and much more so that you can foster optimal growth and advancement for children from birth to eight years of age.
